Tie vs. Overton

If you weren't there last night you missed out on what a soccer game is supposed to be all about. Glencliff played its' best first half yet and finished with a strong second half as well. We were able to shut down Overton's over-hyped offense and crush the ill conceived notions from critiques that led people to believe the Bobcats would have an easy victory. It was a very even match up all night with the score ending the game 0-0. I can't say that I'm disappointed in the Colts, but we will be working extremely hard to be ready for a possible rematch in the district tournament.

Win vs. Antioch

What a game between the two arch rivals last night at Glencliff. Because of a stunning performance by goal keeper Johnny Simpson the score remained 0-0 throughout the first 60 minutes of the match until the 'Cliff was able to pull off one of the only two goals scored. Ten minutes later another goal was scored to clinch the 5th consecutive victory for the Colts.

Tough Loss vs. Brentwood

Varsity
The Colts fell for the first time in 5 games last night to an incredible state runner up team, Brentwood HS. The Bruins scored all of their goals in the first half due to miscommunication from our defense. In the second half it was a different situation, after some changes were made we held the game at 0-0 throughout the final 55 minutes of the game. It was a hard fought battle by the Colts and an outrageous performance by keeper Johnny Simpson, with 11 incredible saves on the night. We played against a state championship calliber team and although the score may not reflect it, the second half was a state championship quality game.

JV
The JV colts provided a tremendous victory over Brentwoods JV team. We came out strong and scored the first goal of the game with ease. After a second goal midway through the second half we were sure we had the game wrapped up, but the Bruins would not go down easily as they answered late in the second half. After several attempts to tie the game the colts defense shut them down and would not allow an opening for an easy score. The game ended with an emotional call that was almost a bench clearing moment for both teams, but the win belongs to us.

Win vs. LCA

A riveting performance was put on by our colts on Friday night. We beat Lancaster Christian Academy by a stunning score of 8-0. What's really impressive is that for nearly the entire game there was not a single starter on the field, we basically played them with our JV team and still put on a show.

Win vs. Cane Ridge

A tremendous display was put on by the Glencliff Colts on Tuesday evening. The colts beat their opponent with a heavy hammer, scoring 5 and allowing 0. With 20 minutes left in the second half the score was 3-0 and we substituted the entire varsity team with the JV squad. In those last 20 minutes, the JV team was able to score 2 goals against a worn down varsity Cane Ridge crew.

After the first half with a score of 1-1, it was anyone's game. The second half ended up being the best soccer all year and there wasn't a mistake to be had by the Colts. Every pass was perfect, every shot on goal, and every ball was won by us. We ended the game winning 3-2 with an incredible effort by our defense.
