giving brentwood a run for their money!

yesterday the boys played #1 ranked (TN.) brentwood high school in the regional semi-finals. i must say that i have never been more proud of our players as they had brentwood on their heels scrounging for a goal. in fact it was a scoreless match until the 65 min when brentwood knocked in a corner kick. i do want to say that it was my pleasure to coach the glencliff varsity soccer program this year and look forward to another great season next year. all the players should be proud of themselves for a wonderful season and a phenomenal game. thank you all!

District Championship

We played McGavock High School yesterday for the district championship game. Tough game for our Glencliff Colts as we lost 1-0 in a very closely played game. Congrat's to Joe Schipani and his boys in the district championship.

close match against staggs and his boys yesterday in the semi-finals of the district tournament. they had us down 1-0 at half time and kept that lead until juan pina scored with about 15 min left to play. saul castillo added the go-ahead in the 75 min for the win. we face mcgavock on friday at mcgavock high school football field. see you all there....

swimming competition

to set the record straight - saul castillo bet coach williams that he could win him in a 50 yard freestyle swim. yesterday coach williams beat the socks off saul by 15 yards. maybe next time saul!

after all getting lost due to coaches inability to print off correct directions (this has happened numerous times this year) we all finally made it to the field behind stratford elementary school in madison to face off with hunters lane. pretty slow start for the glencliff colts, but got some fire power in the first part of the 2nd half from jv sub, jesus aragon. azad abdullah added a goal for a final score of 2-0. with that win, we go into the district tournament in 2nd place behind mcgavock.
